David M. Fortney
President
David M. Fortney is a human resources professional
with over 20 years of experience in senior management. His areas of expertise include
coaching, facilitation,
mediation and internal investigations. Mr. Fortney also has 30 years of
experience as a practicing attorney.
Prior to establishing his own business, Mr. Fortney was vice president of human resources for
Regions Hospital, St. Paul. Mr. Fortney also had responsibility for strategic planning,
risk management and a variety of operating departments. Prior to serving in that role, Mr. Fortney was
vice president and general counsel for HealthPartners,
one of the largest health care providers in Minnesota. In addition to his experience in the private sector, he has
been a practicing attorney with Ramsey and Dakota counties in Minnesota and the office of the Iowa Attorney
General.
A graduate of the University of Iowa College of Law, he received his bachelor of arts degree
from the University of Northern Iowa, where he majored in political science and business. Mr. Fortney is a qualified
neutral under Rule 114 of the Minnesota General Rules of Practice. He is a
certified facilitator for Stephen Covey's Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and also volunteers as a mentor in the
Menttium 100 program.
David is active in the community, having served on the boards of a number of non-profit health
care organizations, as well as arts organizations. Much of his leisure time is spent in Wisconsin, where he enjoys
boating and fishing. He resides in Golden Valley, Minnesota.
